    Head coach Lesley Irvine has announced the 2008 Stanford field hockey schedule, which includes contests against three NCAA Tournament squads from a year ago. The 16-game regular-season schedule features six home contests, beginning with the season opener against Drexel on Aug. 30. The Cardinal will be opening the year on its home turf for the eighth consecutive season.

    Incoming freshman Stephanie Byrne has been selected to participate at the 2008 U.S Field Hockey Junior National Camp, to be held June 28-July 1 at Babson College in Babson Park, Mass. Byrne was selected after competing at the National Futures Tournament earlier this week.

    Freshman Camille Gandhi (London, England) has earned an invitation to participate at U.S. Field Hockey's Junior National Camp, to be held June 28-July 1 at Babson College in Babson Park, Mass. The invitation makes her eligible for selection to the U.S. Under-21 Field Hockey National Team.

    Stanford head coach Lesley Irvine has announced the signing of five recruits to national letters of intent. The group will join the Cardinal for the 2008 campaign. The class includes: Stephanie Byrne (San Jose, Calif.), Devon Holman (Fallbrook, Calif.), Leigh Kaulbach (Sandown, N.H.), Katie Mitchell (Monte Sereno, Calif.) and Beth Ridley (Oakland, Maine).
